Yasin Kol

Yasin Kol joins GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha as a Mathematics Teacher, bringing over 10 years of teaching experience across both the UK and the UAE. Originally from London, England, he holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Plymouth and completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Sunderland. Since relocating to the UAE in 2017, Yasin has been dedicated to inspiring students through high-quality mathematics education.

Yasin is passionate about making mathematics meaningful by connecting classroom learning to real-life situations. He believes students develop the greatest confidence and understanding when learning is engaging, practical, and relevant, regularly incorporating hands-on activities and project-based learning into his lessons.

At GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha, Yasin is committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every student feels empowered to achieve their full potential. He values strong partnerships with students, colleagues, and families, recognising that collaboration is key to student success.

Outside of school, Yasin enjoys playing and watching football, travelling, and spending quality time with his daughter and family. His favourite quote, "A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new," by Albert Einstein, reflects his belief in embracing challenges, learning from experience, and encouraging students to approach learning with curiosity and resilience.
