ED Technology
Syeda Jafri is delighted to be joining GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha as Assistant Headteacher, leading Enterprise, Careers, and Educational Technology (EdTech). Having lived and worked across four countries, she brings a wealth of international experience and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, perspectives, and approaches to learning.
Before pursuing a career in education, Syeda held corporate roles, including with the Royal Bank of Canada, where she developed strong leadership, business, and organisational skills. Her passion for education began through her work with SOS Children's Village and was further strengthened by becoming a parent. These experiences shaped her belief that every child thrives when they feel supported, valued, and empowered to believe in their own potential.
Syeda holds a PGCE, a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master's degree in Education Leadership and Management.
She is passionate about preparing students for future success by developing entrepreneurial thinking, meaningful career pathways, and innovative uses of technology to enhance learning.
Syeda joined GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha because of its commitment to innovation, excellence, and preparing students to succeed in a rapidly changing world. She looks forward to working with students, families, and colleagues to create inspiring opportunities that equip young people with the skills and confidence they need for the future.
Outside of school, Syeda enjoys listening to podcasts, travelling, hiking, reading, exercising, and taking daily walks to reflect and recharge.
