Data & Assessment

Richard Warom is the Assistant Headteacher responsible for Assessment and Data across the Secondary School at GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha. Originally from Birmingham, United Kingdom, he holds a degree in Biochemistry from Cardiff University and brings over 18 years of teaching and leadership experience across the UK and the UAE.

Throughout his career, Richard has been passionate about improving student outcomes through high-quality teaching, the effective use of data, and a strong commitment to continuous school improvement. Before joining the Senior Leadership Team, he successfully led Science departments in both the UK and Dubai, working closely with colleagues to develop an engaging curriculum, raise academic achievement, and ensure every student had the opportunity to succeed.

In his current role, Richard leads the school's assessment and data strategy, developing systems that support both students and staff while ensuring data is used purposefully to enhance teaching, learning, and student progress. He believes that learning should be both challenging and enjoyable and is committed to creating an environment where every student is supported to reach their full potential.

Richard values the strong sense of community at GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha and the shared commitment of staff, students, and parents to helping every child succeed. He firmly believes that exceptional outcomes are achieved when students are challenged, supported, and inspired, and he takes great pride in contributing to the continued success of the school community.

Outside of school, Richard enjoys travelling, playing golf, and supporting Aston Villa Football Club.
