Assistant Head of YR10 & YR11
Adam Oularbi is the Assistant Head of Years 10 & 11 at GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha, where he combines his passion for languages with a strong commitment to pastoral care and student success. Originally from London, Adam began his teaching career in County Durham, where he spent five years supporting young people to achieve their full potential while fostering a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment.
Adam holds a BA in French with English from King's College London and further enriched his studies by spending a year at La Sorbonne in Paris. Alongside his pastoral leadership responsibilities, he teaches French and is passionate about sharing his enthusiasm for Francophone literature, cinema, and culture with his students.
As Assistant Head of Years 10 & 11, Adam works closely with students, families, and colleagues to ensure learners are supported throughout their GCSE journey. He believes in creating a culture of high expectations, belonging, and wellbeing, where every student feels empowered to succeed academically and personally. His classroom is a place where students are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for language learning.
Outside of school, Adam enjoys attending comedy shows, visiting the theatre, travelling, and reading, particularly French literature. He values opportunities to immerse himself in different cultures and brings this enthusiasm into his work, inspiring students to broaden their horizons and embrace new experiences.
