Katharine Marshall

Head of Foundation Stage

Kate Marshall was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia. She graduated from the Australian Catholic University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and later completed Postgraduate Certificates in Early Childhood Studies and Educational Leadership, equipping her with both the academic knowledge and leadership skills to guide early years education.

With more than a decade of experience in Brisbane, Kate has taught across a variety of year levels, from Early Years to Key Stage 2, and has taken on several leadership positions including Year Lead and Curriculum Lead. Her passion for education and ability to inspire colleagues and students alike have been consistent throughout her career.

In 2012, Kate moved to London to further her professional journey as an Early Years teacher. Two years later, she relocated to the United Arab Emirates, joining a British and IB curriculum school in Ajman. There, she not only taught FS2 but also served as Phonics Coordinator and Early Years Literacy Leader, developing a strong focus on literacy and curriculum innovation.

Now as Head of Foundation Stage, Kate is committed to ensuring that the youngest learners receive the very best start to their educational journey. She leads with a vision of creating meaningful, engaging, and purposeful learning experiences that connect to children’s everyday lives while fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

Kate believes that early education is about more than academics, it is about nurturing the whole child. She strives to build a warm and inclusive environment where individuality is celebrated, diversity is embraced, and every child feels valued. Her leadership ensures that both students and staff are supported to thrive, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
