Deputy Head of Primary

Ruby Latham is a passionate and dedicated educator who joined GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha as a founding member, playing an integral role in shaping the school's culture of excellence in teaching and learning.

Holding a BSc in Sports Science with Human Biology and a Master’s in Education, Ruby combines subject expertise with a deep understanding of effective pedagogy. Having previously served as a subject leader in the UK, she brings a wealth of experience in curriculum development, instructional practice, and educational leadership. At MTW, she is committed to promoting high-quality teaching through personalised, evidence-informed approaches that enable every student to succeed.

Ruby is particularly passionate about developing teachers, believing that investing in staff growth has the greatest impact on student outcomes. Through coaching, collaboration, and continuous professional learning, she works to foster a culture where both educators and students are empowered to thrive.

Her educational philosophy is centred on the belief that every learner deserves opportunities tailored to their individual strengths, needs, and aspirations. By championing inclusion, innovation, and high expectations, Ruby strives to ensure every student is supported, challenged, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

Outside of school, Ruby enjoys keeping active at the gym, spending time outdoors on long walks, and exploring a variety of cuisines.
