Head of MOE

Ayat Ismail is a dedicated educational leader. She completed her bachelor’s degree in French and began her teaching career in Egypt, her birthplace. In 2007, she moved to Dubai and has since worked in various international schools. Over the next twelve years, Ayat successfully served in leadership roles within GEMS at Cambridge international school-Dubai. As Head of Languages, she led Arabic, Islamic, and French across the entire school, implementing strong and creative strategies to ensure high standards of Arabic and Islamic education in line with KHDA recommendations. Her expertise and reputation have made her a sought-after mentor and coach across the network, supporting Arabic and Islamic leads.

In 2014, Ayat joined the Senior Leadership Team, focusing on leading the Teaching and Learning Team. Recently, she completed her Level 2 Penta accreditation, qualifying her to serve as a BSO inspector. Throughout her career, she has consistently been recognised as an outstanding teacher and leader.

For the 23/24 academic year, Ayat is excited to take on the role of Head of MOE (Ministry of Education) at GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha, and she eagerly looks forward to working with the wonderful students and families in this new school community. She is committed to finding ways to enhance education for students, both within the curriculum and through extracurricular activities, to make a meaningful impact and provide them with unique opportunities to develop their full potential academically, socially, and personally.
