Shari Franklyn

I'm Shari Franklyn, and I'm here to share a bit about my journey and commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive educational environment. Currently, I proudly serve as the Senior Manager of Safeguarding at the GEMS School Support Centre.

Before joining the GEMS family in 2022, I dedicated my efforts to the field of education in the UAE, where I served as an Inclusive Educator in two schools. With a robust career spanning 30 years in special education, my focus over the past 15 years has been on safeguarding and championing the rights of children.

Originally from the United States, I've devoted my professional life to teaching and school administration. What fuels my passion? It's the pursuit of supporting positive behaviours within schools, a mission I've embraced both in the US and here in the UAE.

My journey is intricately woven with a commitment to encouraging student voice and, above all, safeguarding the rights of children. Whether it's in the classroom or within the broader educational landscape, I'm dedicated to creating an environment where every student feels heard, valued, and protected. Join me in this ongoing endeavour to nurture a space where education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about fostering a sense of security and empowerment for every child.
