
Zoe Sutcliffe
Deputy Head of Secondary
Zoe Sutcliffe is an experienced educational leader with over 13 years of teaching and leadership experience. Originally from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, she studied English Literature at Liverpool Hope University before completing her PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Throughout her career, Zoe has been passionate about inspiring young people to exceed their own expectations while driving excellence in teaching and learning.
Having lived and worked in Dubai for the past five years, Zoe progressed from Head of English to Assistant Headteacher for Learning, Teaching and Curriculum, where she has led whole-school initiatives focused on curriculum development, instructional coaching, and evidence-informed professional learning. Alongside her extensive experience teaching IGCSE and International A Level English, she is committed to empowering teachers to continually refine their practice through collaboration, coaching, and professional development.
As Assistant Headteacher for Learning, Teaching and Curriculum at GEMS Metropole School – Al Waha, Zoe is excited to support the continued growth of the secondary school as it expands into Year 11 and Sixth Form. She is dedicated to developing an ambitious, inclusive curriculum, strengthening high-quality teaching, and ensuring every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential. Drawn to MTW's strong sense of community, Zoe values the partnership between students, staff, and families in creating exceptional learning experiences.
Outside of school, Zoe enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures, having visited destinations across Europe, Africa, and Asia since moving to Dubai. She is also an enthusiastic reader, enjoys the theatre, and loves discovering Dubai's diverse and vibrant food scene.
